Full Day Tour to Ostuni, Cisternino and Polignano from Bari, 1 Day

Departure at 9:00 AM from the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari. Destination: Ostuni, approximately an hour’s drive from Bari.

Ostuni, the “white pearl of Puglia,” appears like a mirage to those arriving from the road that connects it to the coastal highway, a white cloud suspended in the typical blue sky of the area, overlooking a vast valley of ancient olive trees protected by the State. The dazzling whiteness of the houses and lime-washed streets transforms into a magical village of lights in the evening, with a vibrant nightlife! Getting lost in its alleys surrounded by silence will be a pleasure for the eyes and the soul. It is impossible not to recognize the strong Greek influence that characterizes the city and helps us understand the origins of the quintessential white city!

Then, departure for Cisternino, where we will arrive after half an hour.

The lime-washed houses of this charming town perched on a hill are surrounded by the green vegetation typical of the Murgia dei Trulli, in a very panoramic position overlooking the Itria Valley. It has been declared one of the 100 most beautiful towns in Italy! The main church dedicated to St. Nicholas houses a 1517 statue of Madonna with Child by Stefano da Putignano, the most important Renaissance artist in Puglia!

30 minutes of free time for lunch, and then, we will move from Cisternino to reach Polignano a Mare.
The historic center of this town south of Bari is situated on a high white cliff overlooking the sea, offering a spectacular and panoramic view. Polignano a Mare boasts a maze of alleys that surprisingly open up to balconies 30 meters above sea level. It is the capital of artisanal ice cream in Puglia and the birthplace of Domenico Modugno, whose dedicated statue stands tall on the beautiful waterfront of the city. It has served as the backdrop for several international film sets and is one of the most famous tourist destinations for its turquoise and clean sea, recognized by Legambiente!

At 3:30 PM, departure from Polignano a Mare to reach Bari at 4:30 PM.
